Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Insurance Verification Specialist to join their client's dynamic team in Florida. The specialist will report to the Revenue Cycle Supervisor and play a crucial role in insurance verification for clinic and outpatient surgery appointments. This role requires counseling patients regarding their financial responsibilities and collecting payments prior to procedures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment, demonstrate flexibility, and possess a strong customer service orientation to interact effectively with patients, doctors, staff, and management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct insurance verification for clinic and outpatient surgery appointments.
- Counsel patients regarding their financial cost share for procedures and collect payment prior to procedures.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and a customer-focused approach.
- Maintain and update patient insurance information in the electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Verify patient eligibility via payer websites or telephone to determine coverage of benefits and calculate patient responsibility for scheduled services.
- Ensure complete and accurate information is maintained in patient accounts, including authorization or referral received from payer or Primary Care Physician.
- Communicate with insurance companies via phone and/or website to provide any supporting clinical documentation needed to complete the authorization process.
- Perform general duties and other functions as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of medical insurance, including deductibles, copay, and coinsurance is highly preferred.
- Previous experience with verifying and interpreting medical benefits for Medicare, Medicaid, major commercial health insurance, and secondary payers is required.
- Experience processing provider referrals and prior authorization requests.
- Understanding of medical terminology and ICD-10 codes and diagnosis is preferred.
- Familiarity with individual payer guidelines and authorization/referral requirements based on insurance plans.
- Strong people skills required; must be diplomatic, patient, flexible, and able to multi-task.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must be mobile in an office setting, including sitting, standing, walking, and bending.
Required Work Hours
Monday to Friday, first shift.
Benefits
Max Pay is $24 per hour. Min Pay is $19 per hour.

This position is 100% onsite in Florida.
